Ever wonder what lurks below? Learn  the fundamentals of healthy soil structure and improve the quality of your harvest from the ground up. We will discuss composting, erosion, mulching, aeration, and much more. Join us and our experts for a talk on how to care for your garden soil from the moment you wake it up in the spring to the time it is put to bed in the winter, and everything in between!


Presenter, Scott Witte, MLD, CGCS, has a BS in Crop and Soil Sciences from Michigan State University and a Masters Degree in Leadership Studies from North Central College. He currently works as the Director of Horticulture, Cantigny Park (Winfield), and was previously the Director of Agronomy for Cantigny Golf. His background includes Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Certification and as a licensed apiarist, he founded The Bee Barometer Project to promote diverse ecosystems on golf courses to foster healthy honey bees and pollinators. Scott has always possessed a true passion for all things green and growing, he’s now developed an equal passion for growing people!
