The Horticulture program at College of DuPage will host a free Horticulture Career and Job Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the Technical Education Center, Room 1038, on the College’s main campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.

Geared toward job seekers and community members seeking horticultural and landscaping services, this fair will provide opportunities for networking and employment in the horticultural industry. More than 40 employers will be on hand and COD representatives will be available to provide information on horticultural careers and the Horticulture program at College of DuPage.

The GardenWorks Project staff will be at the fair to recruit for a Suburban Agriculture intern, preferably from COD's Sustainable Urban Agriculture degree program. The intern will:

  • serve gardeners seeking supplies and advice in our Resource Center in West Chicago
  • work alongside other volunteers building gardens for families in need in DuPage County and maintaining our Demonstration Garden in West Chicago
  • develop a plan for 12 raised bed gardens which demonstrate traditional and innovative gardening methods, implement plan, and evaluate outputs

English/Spanish bilingual preferred but not required. 75 hours (1 credit) starting April 2017.
