We are so happy to announce that we have made some exciting partnerships for the 2013 season. For the second year, the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry will help us identify needy families who are interested in growing their own food. We will also be working with People's Resource Centerand Bridge Communities clients! We are so thankful for the staff at these three organizations for taking the time to meet with us and plan for next year.
I'd also like to thank my new friend and GardenWorks partner, Rosemarie Freeman. Rosemarie is a mom of two young kids from Wheaton who heard about the project and immediately asked to help. She is a backyard vegetable gardener who is passionate about our mission, and I'm thrilled to be planning the 2013 season with her. Thanks, Rosemarie!
Please look out for the launch of our fundraising campaign in January 1, 2013. For 30 days, we will run a Kickstarter crowd-sourcing campaign and are looking for donors to help support our goal to provide at least 10 families with new vegetable gardens, and refresh our 2012 families. We are trying to raise at least $1500, but it's ALL or NOTHING, meaning that if we do not reach our goal, we get nothing! As a donor, you can contribute at different levels and receive great rewards, like a GardenWorks long sleeve t-shirt or a watercolor print. Keep your eyes out for the start of this campaign!
